Merz said Montenegro is close to EU accession
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, after the Berlin Process summit in Montenegro, said the country is on the best path to joining the EU soon, and that enlargement is a geopolitical necessity. He considers the remaining disputes with Croatia over two negotiating chapters to be surmountable.
