The Large Hadron Collider yields evidence of an extremely rare B meson decay
The LHCb collaboration has reported evidence of the decay of a neutral B meson into a muon–antimuon pair, which the Standard Model predicts to occur in roughly one case out of 10 billion. The result is based on data from 2024–2025 and does not yet reach the status of a discovery.
