Food Assistance Cuts in the US: How SNAP Reductions Hit Arizona Residents Ahead of the Midterm Elections
According to AFP, after the Trump administration's budget law took effect, about five million Americans lost access to the SNAP food assistance program. Arizona was hit hardest: more than 465,000 recipients, including 200,000 children, lost their benefits, and the state's food banks are serving 50,000 more people than usual. The discontent could affect the November 3 midterm elections.
