A Bill on Tax Deduction for Adopting Pets from Shelters Submitted to the State Duma
Deputies of the New People faction proposed giving Russians who adopt a cat or dog from a shelter a social tax deduction for animal care expenses. The deduction will be valid for three years, with a limit of 50 thousand rubles in expenses per year per pet, which at a personal income tax rate of 13% would allow returning up to 6.5 thousand rubles annually.
