The Ibn Sina Prize and awards for industry workers
At a meeting with representatives of the medical and pharmaceutical sectors, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev proposed establishing a state prize named after Ibn Sina — for medical workers who make a significant contribution to protecting public health, introducing advanced scientific developments and modern treatment methods. This was discussed at the meeting, as reported by Daryo.uz. The head of state noted that more than 800,000 specialists are contributing to the transformation of these sectors.
The pilot primary care system and its expansion
In addition to the prize, the president presented state awards to a group of industry representatives — those recognized included medical workers, entrepreneurs and foreign partners; the relevant decree was recently signed. “I always say: the better the primary care level works, the healthier our people will be”, Mirziyoyev emphasized.
The pilot primary care system and its expansion
A key part of the meeting concerned the primary healthcare level. A new system has been introduced on a pilot basis in 28 districts of the country: 7 million residents are personally assigned to family doctors, and the duties and obligations of both parties are enshrined in agreements. New laboratories have been opened, doctors and nurses have been trained, and a “patient pathway” has been developed; according to the publication, this has increased public trust in polyclinics. Under the guaranteed package, outpatients are provided with 69 types of medicines free of charge. The model, which has proven effective at the primary care level, is planned to be implemented in another 100 districts starting next year — that is, coverage will grow more than fourfold compared to the pilot 28 districts.
