Route and test conditions
Geely Auto Uzbekistan completed the international test '3L Challenge', dedicated to the historic cities of the Great Silk Road. The project is aimed at verifying the fuel efficiency and driving range of the EM-i Super Hybrid technology in real road conditions across different countries. The start was given at the official Geely dealership center in the Sergeli district of Tashkent: before departure, the 50-liter fuel tank was filled completely, and the battery was charged to 100%.
The route through the cities of Uzbekistan
The crossover headed through Samarkand to Navoi, then to Bukhara, where the team visited the official Geely dealership center. The route then continued along long roads through desert territories to Urgench, where there was also a visit to a dealership center, after which the car reached the final destination of the trip — the ancient city of Khiva. By the time of arrival in Khiva, the EX5 EM-i had already covered 1055 km without a single refueling and without recharging the battery.
Final results
The test did not end there: since energy reserves remained, the drivers decided to continue driving in normal mode. As a result, the crossover covered 1205 km without additional fuel or recharging. According to the on-board computer, the average consumption was 3.8 l/100 km. When the gasoline ran out, 23% of the charge remained in the battery. The result was recorded as part of Geely's '3L Challenge' project.
