Attack on an energy facility and restoration work
An energy facility has been attacked in the north of Odesa Oblast, leaving some families without electricity. This was reported on the Telegram channel of DTEK — the Donetsk Fuel and Energy Company, the largest private holding in Ukraine's energy sector. According to the company, power engineers began inspecting the surviving equipment and clearing the debris as soon as it became possible.
Context: the energy crisis in Ukraine
The report about Odesa Oblast came against the backdrop of ongoing electricity supply problems in other regions. As Gazeta.Ru notes, earlier in Kyiv residents of several districts blocked roads over multi-day power outages: people complained that electricity came on for only a few minutes and that the promised schedules did not work. In one residential complex, apartments cooled down to 13°C. Voltage disruptions repeatedly halted trams, trolleybuses and metro trains. In a separate article, the outlet described how Ukrainians are coping with the energy crisis; the same article noted that in Kyiv traffic on the damaged Northern Bridge has been partially restored.
