Coalition statement
The Saudi Arabia-led coalition fighting Yemen's Houthis announced on Sunday that it had intercepted and destroyed a drone and four missiles — two ballistic and two cruise missiles. According to coalition spokesman Major General Turki al-Maliki, air defense forces intercepted and destroyed a drone launched by the 'Houthi terrorist militia' toward the southern region. Earlier, the coalition announced the interception of two ballistic missiles fired by the Houthis toward the Saudi capital Riyadh, as well as the interception of two cruise missiles over Riyadh and the southern region, without specifying their origin (according to Anadolu).
Damage at an Aramco facility
The coalition's statements came amid a report from Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Energy about 'minor damage' to the administrative building of the state oil company Aramco as a result of an attempted attack in Riyadh. The outlet notes that these events are taking place against the backdrop of an ongoing military escalation between the coalition and the Houthis, who have repeatedly launched missiles and drones toward Saudi territory.
