Forest comfortably beat City
Nottingham Forest beat Manchester City 3-1 at the City Ground on Saturday, Anadolu reports. It is already City's third consecutive defeat in the Premier League, and ahead of the international break they trail leaders Arsenal by six points.
How the match unfolded
The hosts started at full speed: in the sixth minute Jair Cunha dispossessed Josko Gvardiol, drove forward and fired into the bottom corner past Gianluigi Donnarumma. Twelve minutes later former City striker Liam Delap doubled the lead after a solo run — 2-0 by the 18th minute. The visitors did have chances: Enzo Fernandez missed the target from a Mark Guehi delivery, and Erling Haaland's shot from the edge of the box was blocked by the same Cunha five minutes before the break.
Second half and the finale
City head coach Enzo Maresca brought on Matheus Nunes and Nico O'Reilly after the break, and the substitutions quickly paid off: Ryan Cherki reduced the deficit with a spectacular volley. The visitors pressed, and Haaland nearly equalized with a curling effort, but the attacking setup left space at the back. On a counterattack, Delap restored the two-goal cushion with a powerful strike off the post — 3-1 — sealing a deserved win for the hosts.
