Meeting on November 10 in Rome
Italy's Minister of the Interior Matteo Piantedosi has convened the National Committee for Public Order and Security for Tuesday, November 10, to assess the risks associated with cyberattacks and new threats in the field of cybersecurity. The meeting will be held at the Interior Ministry headquarters in Rome and will focus on potential threats to public security arising from cyberattacks, the ANSA agency reported, as cited by Anadolu.
Tajani's data leak and the government's response
The announcement of the meeting came on Sunday amid growing concern in Italy over cybersecurity. On Saturday, Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said that cybercriminals had spread his personal data on the darknet and were seeking additional information about him and his family, exposing them to 'threats and intimidation.' According to Tajani, the attack is linked to Italy's support for Ukraine. Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni expressed her solidarity with him, referring to the activities of 'pro-Russian hackers.'
Warning about hybrid warfare
Defense Minister Guido Crosetto also expressed concern on Saturday about the risks of hybrid warfare. He warned that threats such as the misuse of personal data and the manipulation of information remain underestimated, and called on the authorities to make overall security a national priority. The outcomes of the November 10 meeting had not been reported in available publications.
