Head coach of the Uzbekistan national team Fabio Cannavaro has announced the list of players called up for the November training camp held as part of the FIFA days. The official announcement was published on the UFA telegram channel, the squad is also reported by Zamon.uz, Kun.uz and UzNews.uz. The squad includes four goalkeepers, eight defenders, 15 midfielders and three forwards. Goalkeepers: Abduvohid Nematov (Nasaf), Vladimir Nazarov (Pakhtakor), Edem Nemanov (Dynamo Samarkand) and Samandar Muratbaev (Nasaf). The defensive line is represented by Rustamjon Ashurmatov (Esteghlal, Iran), Jahongir Urozov (Rubin, Russia), Behruzhon Karimov (Lugano, Switzerland), Sherzod Nasrullaev, Muhammadrasul Abdumajidov (Pakhtakor), Giyosjon Rizakulov (Qyzylqum), Mahmujon Mahamajonov (Dynamo Makhachkala) and Dilshod Murtozaev (Nasaf). In midfield: Odiljon Hamrobekov (Tractor, Iran), Azizbek Tulkinbekov (Bunyodkor), Akmal Mozgovoy, Dostonbek Hamdamov (Pakhtakor), Azizjon Ganiev (Baniyas, UAE), Sherzod Esanov (Bukhara), Umarali Rahmonaliev (Sabah, Azerbaijan), Diyor Kholmatov, Ruslan Zhiyanov, Jasur Jaloliddinov (Navbahor), Behruz Uktamov (Surkhan), Abrorbek Ismoilov (Neftchi), Abbos Fayzullaev (Istanbul Basaksehir, Turkey), Nodir Abdurazzokov and Aziz Kholmurodov (AGMK). The attack consists of Eldor Shomurodov (Istanbul Basaksehir), Husayn Norchaev (Navbahor) and Azizbek Amonov (Dynamo Samarkand).

Khusanov and Shomurodov: who is missing part of the preparation and why

The main change compared to the usual squad is the absence of defender Abdukodir Khusanov. According to Zamon.uz, the team's coaching and medical staffs, taking into account the player's physical condition, decided not to call him up for the November camp so that he could continue his recovery process. UzNews.uz confirms the same reason. The second limitation concerns the team captain: Eldor Shomurodov is included in the squad, but due to family circumstances he will not be at the coaching staff's disposal in the first days of the camp — that is, he is missing only the start of the preparation, not the entire camp, unlike Khusanov.

Match calendar

As part of the camp, the team will play two friendly matches. On 12 November in Tashkent at the Pakhtakor stadium, Uzbekistan will host the Russia national team — kickoff at 20:00. On 17 November Cannavaro's players will face the Saudi Arabia national team in Doha; the match is scheduled for 20:30.
