The key facts
- External power supply to the ZNPP has been restored via the 330 kV 'Ferroalloy-1' line after repair work
- The diesel generators operated without any issues and have been switched to standby mode
- According to the plant, no violations of safe operation limits were recorded, and the radiation background corresponds to natural values
Power supply to the plant has been restored
At the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, after repair work, the 330 kV high-voltage line 'Ferroalloy-1' has been put back into operation, and the plant's own electricity needs are now supplied through it. This was reported by representatives of the ZNPP, their words were cited by Life.ru.
What happened earlier
Earlier, the plant was left without external power after the last remaining supply line was damaged — 'Ferroalloy-1'. After it was disconnected, backup diesel generators started automatically, providing power to the equipment needed to keep the reactor units in a safe state; the radiation background remained within normal limits. The disconnection was reported on the official ZNPP channel.
Condition of the safety systems
According to plant representatives, the diesel generators operated without any issues, and after the power supply was restored they were switched to standby mode in case of another loss of external power. All safety systems functioned normally during the outage; no violations of the established limits and conditions of safe operation were recorded, according to the ZNPP. The radiation situation on the plant's territory and in the surrounding area remains stable, with background levels corresponding to natural values.
