The key facts
- In first place — a fitted coat with pronounced shoulders, either cropped or long
- In second place — a faux fur coat or short fur jacket that adds a vintage touch to the look
- For a practical purchase the stylist recommends black and gray; for several items — green, burgundy, dark blue, and bright blue
Silhouette matters more than color
Silhouette coats and fur coats will remain in fashion this winter — stylist Vladislav Lisovets told Gazeta.Ru. According to him, the main thing in outerwear this season is the silhouette, not the color: 'today the silhouette is what matters,' and it is the silhouette that determines whether a look will be elegant.
What the stylist recommends wearing
Lisovets put the coat in first place — not too bulky, but fitted, with shoulders; both a cropped and a long version will work. In second place is a faux fur coat or a short fur jacket, which, in his opinion, make the look 'a little bit vintage' and add elegance. At the same time, the expert emphasized, jackets, parkas, and fur coats are all relevant, and the cut can be either fitted or trapeze-shaped.
How to choose a color
The stylist recommended choosing a color that is not too bright so that the item remains practical. If the wardrobe allows for several winter pieces, he named green, burgundy, dark blue, and bright blue. For a single practical purchase — black and gray, as 'a fail-safe option for years to come.' Bright items, according to him, are acceptable, but not as the basis of a wardrobe, rather 'for going out'; a modest print — plaid or a subtle stripe — is not forbidden.
Context
This is a continuation of the stylist's series of recommendations: earlier, on November 5, Lisovets explained in another Gazeta.Ru article how to wear knitwear correctly in winter. It should be noted that the publication reflects the personal opinion of one expert, not a summary of trends from multiple sources.
