Strike near Odesa and the context of the attack series
Russia's Ministry of Defense reported in its daily briefing on November 7 that Russian forces struck a dry cargo ship carrying military property and dual-use goods to Ukraine. The vessel was in the Black Sea east of Odesa. This was reported by Life.ru citing the ministry.
What is known about the series of strikes on ships
This is not the first such report in recent days. Earlier, Life.ru reported a strike on a dry cargo ship carrying military cargo southeast of Odesa, and on November 6, drones attacked a vessel southwest of the city — according to the Ministry of Defense, it was also used to deliver military property and dual-use products.
Weekly results according to the ministry
The day before, the Ministry of Defense summed up the week's results, announcing that 14 dry cargo ships had been struck, which it said were involved in supplying Ukrainian troops — referring to shipments of weapons, military equipment and dual-use cargo from October 31 to November 6. A week earlier, the ministry reported 11 similar vessels. Port infrastructure facilities used for receiving, storing and distributing military cargo were also named among the targets. All of this data comes from the Russian military ministry; there is no independent confirmation, nor any data on losses or consequences for the ships, in the sources.
Strikes on supply facilities on November 7
On the same day, November 7, according to the Ministry of Defense, Russian drones attacked facilities involved in supplying the Ukrainian army in Kyiv region: near Irpin — fuel tankers carrying fuel for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and near Novi Petrivtsi — the 'Severnaya' 330 kV electrical substation, which, according to the ministry, supplied electricity to military industry enterprises.
