The accident restricted water supply and traffic
A major utility accident disrupted the water supply in Melitopol in the Zaporizhzhia region: water is being delivered to homes on a temporary schedule with reduced pressure. This was reported by the region's governor Yevgeny Balitsky on his Telegram channel, writes Life.ru. To carry out emergency repair work, a section of Kostenko Street between Petrovsky Street and Karl Marx Street has been closed — car traffic there is blocked.
Timeline for fixing the damage
Utility crews are working at the site; they must repair the damaged water main and restore normal water supply. According to the preliminary plan, the repair is expected to be completed by the end of the day on November 8. Until then, restrictions on water supply and traffic remain in place. In practical terms, this means that residents of the affected areas need to follow the water supply schedule until the work is finished, and drivers should detour around the closed section of Kostenko Street.
A similar accident in Bodaibo
Life.ru also recalled the utility accident in Bodaibo in the Irkutsk region, where on November 5, due to a pipeline burst at the intersection of Naberezhnaya and Stoyanovich streets, residents of some buildings were left without heating and hot water. A crew from the municipal enterprise Teplovodokanal was sent to the site; after the repair, specialists pressure-tested the pipe and filled the system with water, restoring heating the same evening. This is a separate incident, unrelated to the situation in Melitopol.
