The closed trial will begin on November 12

From November 12, a court in Moscow will hear behind closed doors the case of Sergei Belyakov, the former deputy director of the Kalashnikov concern, who is accused of embezzling more than 213 million rubles. One of the participants in the proceedings told TASS about the date of the first hearing and the decision to hold the trial in closed session following preliminary hearings ..

The essence of the charges and the defense's position

The charges are based on the supply of unload vests from China under the state defense procurement program. According to investigators, these purchases caused the concern damage exceeding 213 million rubles. Life.ru reported back in April that Belyakov had been charged with fraud on an especially large scale .

Preventive measure and other defendants

Belyakov himself denies his guilt and insists that the deal with the Chinese suppliers was justified. The court extended his detention until February 2027; the accused is being held in one of Moscow's pre-trial detention centers. Another defendant in the case fled from investigators to China and has been placed on a wanted list.

A separate case on procurement

Earlier, Life.ru reported on the arrest of Ksenia Grashchenkova, Kalashnikov's former director of procurement and logistics. She is charged with abuse of office in fulfilling the state defense order; the case was opened in November 2025, after which the materials concerning her were separated into a separate proceeding, and the investigation has already been completed. She faces up to ten years in prison. Thus, the trial of Belyakov and the completed investigation of Grashchenkova are two separate proceedings within the concern's procurement under the state defense order.
