The tenth forum opened in Istanbul
On Friday, November 6, the tenth TRT World Forum began its work in Istanbul. The theme of the anniversary forum is formulated as 'A World Without a Center: Who Leads When the Rules End?' — it reflects the platform's focus on the changing world order. The forum has been held annually by the Turkish public broadcaster TRT since 2017 and brings together politicians, scholars, journalists, athletes, artists, and civil society representatives at the Istanbul Congress Center, Anadolu reports.
Who spoke at the opening
The opening speeches on the first day were delivered by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Presidential Communications Director Burhanettin Duran, and TRT Director General Mehmed Zahid Sobaci. Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz spoke at the open session 'Turkey: From a Regional Power to a Multi-Regional Actor,' while the head of intelligence MIT, Ibrahim Kalin, took part in the panel 'Gaza at the Intersection of International Law and Humanitarian Collapse.'
Ten years in review and this year's program
Over its decade of existence, the forum has held 86 open and 76 closed sessions, featuring 801 speakers. This year's program includes nine open sessions and a series of expert roundtables devoted to artificial intelligence, energy crises, international law, and the global economy. Among the key panels are discussions on middle powers in a multipolar order, the 'American paradox' in the international system, the economies of the Middle East after the war, the geopolitics of maritime corridors, and AI governance. The roundtables will also address security in the Asia-Pacific region, Eurasian integration, the Russia-Ukraine war, as well as diplomacy and geoeconomics in Africa.
