Tsadel Moves onto Wheels

Rostec has developed a mobile version of the ZAK-30 Tsadel anti-aircraft artillery system, mounting it on an automotive chassis. This was announced by the state corporation, and the same is indicated by a report by Gazeta.Ru citing Rostec. In the new modification, the combat module together with radar and optical means of detecting aerial targets is installed on a wheeled platform.

What the Mobile Version Changes

The key difference from the system's previous configuration lies in its purpose: originally, Tsadel was created to cover stationary objects, but now it can be quickly redeployed between sites that require protection from air attacks. Rostec expects that the mobile variant will expand the capabilities of mobile fire groups. The system is equipped with a 30-millimeter cannon and uses programmable airburst rounds: the munition detonates at a calculated point near the target and destroys it with fragments. According to the developer, the stationary version has already proven its performance in combat conditions and is capable of destroying various types of drones and cruise missiles.

Previous Stages

Life.ru lists the preceding events: the first presentation of Tsadel took place in May 2026 at the International Security Forum; in September, the system was shown to a foreign audience for the first time at an air show in Egypt. Later, Rostec reported a reduction in ammunition consumption when destroying drones thanks to a new fire control system, and the Russian Defense Ministry announced the delivery of Tsadel and Zubr systems to air defense units. The publications do not report details of the new mobile modification, such as production and delivery timelines.
