Verdict in the case of the theft of 15.4 million rubles

The housekeeper of Vlad Cherevaty, winner of the Battle of Psychics, has been given a two-year suspended sentence for stealing money and jewelry worth 15,454,000 rubles. This was reported by Life.ru, citing BAZA. According to the case materials, for more than six months the woman quietly removed valuables from the medium's home, taking about 50,000 rubles at a time from a hiding place in the garage, and hid the stolen items in bags, buckets and among clothes while continuing to work in the house. According to the outlet, the psychic did not notice the losses for a long time.

What was stolen and who was recognized as the victim

In addition to cash, the missing items included a gold watch, a pendant and designer sunglasses. The total value of the stolen property was estimated at 15,454,000 rubles. Notably, the victim in the case was not the Battle of Psychics star himself, but his girlfriend: it was she who entrusted the large sum to the psychic for safekeeping, and the money was kept in the garage of his house.

Conflicting versions and the fate of the defendant's son

During court hearings, the woman admitted the theft but tried to shift part of the blame onto the psychic's wife: according to her version, Cherevaty's wife herself suggested taking money from the hiding place because she was unhappy with her husband's financial stinginess. The medium's wife rejected this version during questioning. The defendant's son, who worked as a gardener for Cherevaty, also featured in the case: investigators suspected him of assisting his mother, but the family's lawyer, Said Yarakhmedov, secured the termination of criminal prosecution against him.

Suspended sentence and unresolved financial issue

The prosecution insisted on a real prison term, but the court took into account the circumstances of the case, including the time the woman had spent in pre-trial detention, and imposed a two-year suspended sentence. However, the financial side of the conflict remains unresolved: despite the guilty plea and the verdict, the victim's stolen money has not yet been returned.

How the damage estimate changed

Life.ru previously reported the housekeeper's detention in this case, when the stolen amount was preliminarily estimated at 12 million rubles. According to Mash data cited by the outlet, the loss was discovered using surveillance camera footage, and after a criminal case was opened, the housekeeper was sent to pre-trial detention. Thus, by the time of the verdict, the confirmed damage amount had grown from the preliminary estimate of 12 million to 15.45 million rubles.
