Loza's statement

Singer Yuri Loza has stated that genuinely talented people have not appeared on Russian television for a long time, and their place, in his view, has been taken by untalented individuals with connections. He said this in a conversation with the Public News Service, as reported by Gazeta.Ru.

'The money-making machine has been launched'

According to the artist, television has become impossible to watch today, because viewers are not shown outstanding performers, and only those with connections but no talent get invited onto the screen. 'It's obscurantism, honestly. Out of any nobody, they make a hyped-up star for several million. Such a person starts being promoted, merchandise and advertising are created with their face, and talk shows featuring them are produced. And that's it — the money-making machine has been launched. As long as the face of such a creature flashes everywhere, income and advertising contracts are guaranteed,' the outlet quotes him as saying.

On the role of technology and on himself

Loza also suggested that if a 'well-connected person' has no talent, their voice will be fixed with the help of artificial intelligence and tuning. At the same time, the musician hinted that today's television and stage lack charismatic celebrities with musical taste, like himself. This is not his first loud statement: earlier he compared the Earth to a bicycle.
