The key facts

  • The system covers excavation works, utility lines, and road closures
  • Work without a permit entails liability

Excavation work permits have moved online

An electronic system for issuing excavation work permits has begun operating in Tashkent, the Road Traffic Organization Center reported. As UzNews.uz writes, both individuals and legal entities can now submit applications online through the order.tashkent.uz portal.

What can be processed through the new system

Through order.tashkent.uz, applications are accepted for three types of permits: carrying out excavation works, laying utility lines and temporary road closures or territory closures. According to the Center, the system is expected to ensure advance planning of works, their coordination with the relevant organizations, and safe execution.

Why it matters

The Center emphasized that unplanned and unorganized excavation works can lead to traffic congestion, inconvenience for pedestrians, damage to underground utilities, and disruptions in the operation of public services. The agency also reminded that excavation, repair works and modifications to facilities in public-use areas without the appropriate permit entail liability. In practical terms, this means applicants no longer need to apply for a permit in person — submitting the application and obtaining approval take place through a single online service.
