Fire at a facility in the Kyiv region
On the night of November 5, 2026, a Russian attack with drones and missiles caused a major fire at a facility in the Kyiv region. Footage from the scene showed flames engulfing parts of the complex, while crews from across the region were dispatched to reinforce the response: firefighters extinguished burning structures and kept the fire from spreading. Ukraine's State Emergency Service reported that by morning the fire had been contained, although extinguishing individual hotspots and dismantling damaged structures continued. According to preliminary information, there were no fatalities; one man was reported injured, but authorities did not disclose details about his condition. This is reported by euronews.
The scale of the overnight attack
The strike was part of a larger overnight attack. According to the Air Force of Ukraine, Russia launched 128 attack drones, 65 of them jet-powered, as well as two Kh-35 guided air-launched missiles from the Black Sea area. Air defenses shot down or suppressed 105 drones, including 48 jet-powered ones; however, hits were recorded at 18 locations, and debris fell at nine more sites. The Air Force did not report intercepting either of the two missiles.
What is known about the facility and what remains unclear
Authorities did not specify which facility was hit. It is only known that it is located in an area with warehouses, storage depots and transport hubs that supply Kyiv. The extent of the damage and details about the injured man have also not been disclosed. It should be noted that the English and Russian versions of the euronews article contain identical figures on the number of drones, missiles and interception results, with no discrepancies between them.
