Three encounters with moose in a single morning

On the morning of November 5, three cases of moose entering the roadway occurred in Zelenograd, and two of the animals died, the capital's State Traffic Inspectorate reported. As Life.ru writes, on 2nd Zapadny Proyezd a Sollers car struck a moose. The second animal died on Panfilovsky Prospekt near building No. 2 — it jumped off a bridge. In the third case, near building No. 6A on Panfilovsky Prospekt, a moose crossing the road collided with a parked Ford; its death was not reported.

What the traffic police advise and what happened earlier

The State Traffic Inspectorate urged drivers to slow down near forested areas and to be especially attentive at dusk and before dawn. When an animal appears on the road, drivers are advised to brake smoothly and let it move away, avoiding sharp maneuvers and horn signals; if a collision does occur — stay at the scene and file the accident report. The outlet separately recalls an earlier similar incident in Zelenograd, when a moose died under the wheels of an Opel. According to the Moscow Prosecutor's Office, the 60-year-old driver was not injured, and the oversight agency has taken under its control the investigation into the circumstances of the accident and the issue of compensation for environmental damage.
