Family reports feeling unwell after dinner

Four members of a family from Yekaterinburg complained of severe illness after a dinner with rolls from the Viva Rolls delivery service. This was reported by the Telegram channel SHOT PROVERKA citing local resident Yulia. According to her, her temperature rose to 38.6 degrees, she developed abdominal pain and diarrhea, and the unpleasant symptoms persisted for four days.

The order and the company's response

The woman said that she, her husband and her parents ordered the 'Mind-Blowing Five' set and several appetizers — the purchase cost almost 2,500 rubles. The food was prepared at the establishment on Shaumyan Street. After dinner, all four felt unwell. Yulia filed a complaint with the company, but, according to her, delivery representatives replied that they had conducted an internal check and found no violations; the details of the check were allegedly not explained to the customer.

Similar complaints from other customers

Other Viva Rolls customers also complain about similar problems. A customer named Irina claims that after eating the rolls she needed three days of IV drips and a two-week diet. Another woman spoke about being hospitalized during pregnancy and, according to her, the company later reimbursed her treatment costs. Reviews also mention a sour taste in the cream cheese, a suspicious taste of the fish and possibly stale ingredients; one customer admitted she threw away two orders at once, fearing poisoning.

Context and what remains unknown

This is not the first such case reported by Life.ru: earlier the outlet covered a complaint from a couple from Samara about poisoning after dinner at the Toki Ramen restaurant — a woman named Ksenia experienced severe vomiting, diarrhea and weakness, her temperature rose to almost 38 degrees, a doctor diagnosed food poisoning and put her on an IV drip. The restaurant suggested that external factors could have been the cause and promised to inspect the kitchen. In the Viva Rolls case, the cause of the illness has not yet been confirmed: according to the complainant, the company limited itself to saying no violations were found, while the details of the check and the results of any external inspections are not given in the publication.
