Condition of the cats from Kizlyar clarified
The cats Bulochka and Kistochka, harmed by an unknown person in Kizlyar, Dagestan, will no longer be able to walk. This was reported by the Telegram channel Mash Gor. Both animals were taken in for treatment by a veterinary clinic in Makhachkala; they are currently in satisfactory condition and were able to eat during the examination.
Diagnosis and progress
The animals were diagnosed with soft tissue ruptures, cracks, and massive swelling — due to the injuries sustained, Bulochka and Kistochka will no longer be able to walk. These findings differ from earlier reports by Gazeta.Ru on November 2: at that time, the injured cats were found to have damage to the spine and intestines, signs of inflammation, were in serious condition, and there was a high probability that they would have to be euthanized. Thus, within a few days the prognosis changed from probable euthanasia to a satisfactory condition, but with an irreversible loss of the ability to walk.
Circumstances and search for those responsible
According to available information, both cats roamed the street freely, at some point went missing for a week, and then returned. Presumably, throughout that time the animals were starved and sexually abused. The owner of Bulochka and Kistochka filed a report with the police, and law enforcement officers are searching for the abuser.
Context
Gazeta.Ru also recalls another recent incident in Dagestan: there, children brutally abused a cat, and the animal had to be euthanized. That incident occurred separately from the story of Bulochka and Kistochka.
