The event will take place under the chairmanship of the head of the State Security Service of Uzbekistan, Colonel General B. Kurbanov, reports Kun.uz citing the Service's Telegram channel.
The theme of the meeting: digital transformation and threats
The main theme of the dialogue will be the fight against terrorism and extremism in the context of digital transformation. Participants will discuss the impact of advanced technologies and artificial intelligence on modern threats and risks. Following the talks, it is planned to define specific tasks and priority areas of cooperation in combating international terrorism and extremism.
How this format came about
The initiative to create this format belongs to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev: he put it forward in 2024 at the SCO summit in Astana, and at the summit in Tianjin in 2025 it was proposed to hold the first meeting in Samarkand. Thus, the upcoming event is the first in the history of the format, and its holding in Uzbekistan is the result of consistent proposals by the Uzbek side at the highest level.
