Rescue on the embankment
In Komsomolsk-on-Amur, rescuers pulled an exhausted roe deer out of a hole in the ice, the press service of the EMERCOM of Russia's Main Directorate for the Khabarovsk Territory reported. Witnesses contacted emergency services after spotting a young roe deer frozen into the ice on the embankment, five meters from the shore.
How the operation went
The difficulty of the operation was that the bottom at that spot drops off steeply and the depth is about three meters — according to the EMERCOM, the roe deer miraculously managed to stay in the hole. One of the rescuers, wearing a wetsuit, reached the animal along a rope and pulled it ashore. The rescued roe deer was taken to the Python zoological center. The report does not provide information about its subsequent condition.
