The key facts

  • According to the manufacturer Skyfall, the Stargate drone evacuated two wounded servicemen; both are recovering.
  • Specifications: speeds up to 105 km/h, 15 km one way with a person on board (30 km round trip).
  • Development took about a year; conventional evacuation is hampered by mining and enemy drones.

First flights and specifications

Ukraine has begun using an unmanned aircraft to evacuate wounded servicemen from the battlefield — its manufacturer, the company Skyfall, reported. According to the company, the Stargate drone has already carried two servicemen away from the front line, and both are now recovering. The announcement was released on November 2, 2026 in a Euronews video report (the outlet's Russian version repeats the same information).

Why such a drone was needed

The drone reaches speeds of up to 105 km/h and can carry a person 15 kilometers in one direction — that is, fly a round trip of 30 kilometers. A company representative calls Stargate the first drone for aerial evacuation of the wounded and says it was developed in about a year in response to requests from the front. According to his explanation, due to dense mining and enemy drones in the sky, traditional evacuation methods are often impossible, while ground unmanned vehicles cope poorly with rivers and rough terrain. All the figures cited come from the manufacturer itself; the publication contains no independent confirmation of them.
