The key facts

  • FPV drone strikes by the Vostok group hit convoys with infantry and armored vehicles in the Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions
  • The Russian Ministry of Defense claims the Ukrainian rotation was disrupted on two directions
  • The Sever group is demining Barylivka, taken under control on October 28

Strikes on convoys along rotation routes

FPV drone operators of the Vostok (East) group of forces detected movement of Ukrainian units toward forward positions in the Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions during aerial reconnaissance. According to Life.ru, citing the Russian Ministry of Defense, the convoys included vehicles carrying infantry and cargo, as well as armored combat vehicles. UAV crews struck the vehicles directly along their routes; according to the military ministry, some vehicles were hit together with the servicemen inside, and the rotation of Ukrainian personnel was disrupted.

Clearance of Barylivka

In a separate report, Life.ru says that the Sever (North) group of forces is carrying out mopping-up and demining of the liberated Barylivka in the Sumy region. The ministry announced the settlement's transfer under Russian control on October 28; thus, the current work is a continuation of the already announced change in the line of control, not a new capture.

What is important to keep in mind

Both reports rely on statements from the Russian side: the data on destroyed vehicles, losses, and the very fact of the disrupted rotation have no independent confirmation in available publications. Information on the situation at the front in these areas so far is limited to the military ministry's wording.
