A fifth consecutive league win

Trabzonspor beat Gaziantep 2-0 at home on Sunday in the 10th round of the Turkish Süper Lig, extending their unbeaten run under German head coach Thomas Reis to seven matches in all competitions. It was the club's fifth consecutive win in the championship, Anadolu reports. With 22 points after 10 rounds, the team holds third place in the table, while Gaziantep remain on eight points.

Course of the match

The visitors started more actively: in the 34th minute Trabzonspor goalkeeper André Onana stopped Dejan Sorescu, and two minutes later he saved Driss Kamara's shot from a tight angle. The hosts responded closer to half-time: Paul Onuachu, after a cross from Sidney Cabral, headed just wide of the post, and Gaziantep goalkeeper Ataberk Dadakdeniz tipped Noah Saviolo's stoppage-time effort behind for a corner. It was from that set piece that the deadlock was broken in the 45+2nd minute: Mohamed Salah whipped a cross into the box, Ernest Muçi flicked the ball to the far post, and Stefan Savić fired it into the net from close range — the ball first hit the crossbar but crossed the line. After the break, Muçi doubled the lead in the 61st minute with a powerful strike from long distance. In the 85th minute, substitute Umut Nayir could have made it 3-0, but missed from close range.

Muçi's numbers

The 25-year-old Albanian midfielder has now tallied three goals and six assists in nine league matches this season. According to Anadolu, it was precisely his goal and assist that proved decisive in the victory, allowing the team to keep third place in the standings.
