The key facts
- JSC GLONASS discovered a phishing site imitating the drone registration service.
- The only official resource for connecting drones is nebo.aoglonass.ru.
- Fraudsters use artificial intelligence to create exact copies of government services.
Phishing site disguised as drone registration
JSC GLONASS has identified a phishing resource imitating the official service for connecting unmanned aerial vehicles to the state information system ERA-GLONASS. The system operator warned users in the Max messenger that the only legitimate platform for identifying aerial drones is the address nebo.aoglonass.ru. The attackers created a copy whose purpose is to collect citizens' personal data under the guise of a mandatory registration procedure.
Data protection recommendations
If there is suspicion of data leakage through such resources, the operator recommends immediately changing the password on the Gosuslugi portal, enabling two-factor authentication, and checking the list of active sessions. The company urges citizens to carefully verify website addresses and refrain from entering confidential data on suspicious portals that may be visually indistinguishable from the original government services.
Use of AI to create fakes
The problem is compounded by the use of artificial intelligence to generate exact copies of websites. As reported on October 12 by the Softline group of companies, fraudsters use AI to create fake resources of Russian banks and government services that are practically indistinguishable from the originals in design, texts, and login forms. This trend confirms the growing difficulty for ordinary users in detecting fakes.
