Honda's plans for updating the Accord

Honda plans to carry out a major update of the Accord family in the second half of 2027, Automotive News reports, citing sources familiar with the company's plans. The model will receive a new design, and the lineup will gain a version with a body combining the features of a wagon and a crossover.

Design, interior and technology

The exterior of the next-generation Accord is expected to change noticeably: instead of the current look, the car will get a sportier and more futuristic appearance. According to one version, Honda may use solutions previously shown in the concepts of the 0 Series electric vehicle family in the design; another possible reference is the prototype presented by the company in spring 2026. Changes are also expected in the interior — larger displays, expanded multimedia capabilities and improved trim materials.

What will remain the same

According to preliminary data, the model's technical basis will not change: the car will keep the current platform, and the main changes will concern the hybrid powertrains with 1.5- and 2-liter engines, which are planned to be refined to reduce fuel consumption.

Crossover version in 2029

A separate Accord modification combining the features of a wagon and a crossover is expected to debut in 2029. According to the publication's sources, it may become a conceptual successor to the Honda Accord Crosstour, which was produced in the first half of the 2010s. It should be noted that the publication relies on sources familiar with the company's plans: there is no official confirmation from Honda in the report, so the timing and content of the updates remain preliminary.
