The key facts

Leipzig finally won away from home
RB Leipzig beat newly promoted Schalke 2:0 in GelsenkirchenAntonio Nusa opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 37th minute, and Romulo sealed the result 12 minutes before the end. The win was the team's first points on the road this season — previously Leipzig had lost all three away matches, which contrasts with their home form: four wins at their own ground with an aggregate score of 18:0. After the matchday, the club sits in fourth place, one point behind third-placed Freiburg. Already on Wednesday, Leipzig face a Champions League match against Manchester City.
Füllkrug matched Völler's record
Werder striker Niclas Füllkrug, who returned to the club on a season-long loan from West Ham, scored the first goal in the 2:0 win over Hoffenheim (the second goal came from Erhan Dinkci). For the 33-year-old forward, it was his seventh consecutive match with a goal — he equalled the club record set by Rudi Völler in the 1982/83 season. In total this season, Füllkrug has 12 goals in 10 matches in all competitions — a stark contrast to the previous stretch of his career: three goals in 18 months at West Ham and one at Milan during a six-month loan.
Stuttgart rattled the previously leading Leverkusen
Stuttgart, who had won only three of their previous eight matches in all competitions, unexpectedly thrashed Bayer Leverkusen 4:2 away. Ermedin Demirović scored a brace, with Jamie Leweling and Bilal El Khannouss also on target; Patrick Schick and Ibrahim Maza scored for the hosts. For Leverkusen, who had won eight of their last ten matches, the defeat marked a noticeable slump against the backdrop of the visitors' lively attacking play. Meanwhile, Freiburg came from behind to beat Augsburg 2:1: Michael Gregoritsch opened the scoring in the 18th minute, Igor Matanović equalised in the 65th, and the winning goal came from Cyriak Irie five minutes before the end. Borussia Mönchengladbach continued their cautious revival with a goalless home draw against Paderborn. On Saturday evening, Bayern host Dortmund: the league leaders are ahead of Dortmund only on goal difference, and for Harry Kane it is his first match after winning the Ballon d'Or.
