The key facts

  • OYAK declared its readiness to participate in creating housing and external infrastructure of New Tashkent
  • Evyap agreed to accelerate the construction of a plant in the Ostim Global industrial zone
  • EKSIM discussed power transmission lines and charging stations for electric transport

Talks in Ankara

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held meetings in Ankara with the leadership of several Turkish companies, discussing promising joint projects. The talks noted the growing activity of Turkish business in Uzbekistan and the contribution of business circles to the development of strategic partnership relations between the two countries. The meeting took place the day after Mirziyoyev's talks with the chairman of the board of directors of Anadolu Group, as reported by Spot.uz.

OYAK: chemistry, geology and New Tashkent

OYAK General Director Murat Yalçıntaş expressed interest in joint investment projects in the chemical industry, geology and construction. He emphasized the company's readiness to participate in creating housing and external infrastructure in New Tashkent — that is, the discussion concerns not only the residential quarters themselves, but also the accompanying external infrastructure of the capital district under construction.

Evyap and EKSIM

At the meeting with Umer Evyap, a member of the board of directors of Evyap Holding, an agreement was reached to accelerate the construction of a plant in the Uzbek-Turkish industrial zone Ostim Global. The parties also considered opportunities for localizing raw materials for the production of cosmetics and hygiene products; Evyap declared its readiness to expand cooperation.

Energy and infrastructure

Chairman of the board of directors of EKSIM Holding Ebubekir Tivnikli discussed with the head of state expanding ties in infrastructure, green energy and the mining industry. Among the main topics were the construction of new power transmission lines and the creation of a network of charging stations for electric transport, as well as promising geological projects.

Context: power grids of three regions

EKSIM's declared interest in energy matters echoes an earlier news item: according to Spot.uz, the Turkish company Aksa Enerji will take over the management of the power grids of the Tashkent, Jizzakh and Syrdarya regions. Thus, the discussion of power transmission lines and charging infrastructure is taking place against the backdrop of an already announced presence of Turkish companies in the management of Uzbekistan's power grid infrastructure. At the same time, the outcomes of the Ankara meetings are so far described only as agreements and declared readiness of the companies — the publication does not report any signed contracts or specific amounts.
