Draft tax incentives for railway and bus stations put up for discussion
In Uzbekistan, bus terminals, bus stations, railway stations and local airports may be exempted from property tax and land tax for three years — from 1 January 2027 to 1 January 2030. The Ministry of Transport has posted the relevant draft resolution on the portal for discussion of draft regulations, Kun.uz reports. The discussion will last until 11 November.
What else the draft provides for
In addition to tax incentives, the document envisages launching, through the Central Bank, a mechanism for issuing entrepreneurs long-term loans on preferential terms for the construction, reconstruction and modernization of bus terminals and bus stations. These loans are also planned to be used for purchasing new minibuses for passenger transportation on urban, suburban and intercity routes.
Commercial development of bus station territories
The draft allows up to 20% of bus station territory to be developed with various complexes. These plots may host electric vehicle charging stations, catering facilities, hotels, service points, car washes and shops. Thus, in addition to the tax relief, it is proposed to expand the revenue opportunities of the bus stations themselves. The final decision will become known after the discussion ends on 11 November; for now, the document remains a draft.
