Children injured while playing with gasoline
In the city of Lysva, Perm Krai, two schoolchildren suffered burns while playing with fire and gasoline. This was reported by the Main Directorate of the Russian Emergencies Ministry for Perm Krai. The incident occurred on October 24: children born in 2012 and 2015 were playing with gasoline behind a bus stop on Razin Street and at some point set it on fire. When the fuel ignited, the schoolchildren tried to put out the flames themselves, but ended up catching fire themselves.
Condition of the victims and rescuers' warning
Both children were taken to hospital with burns. Doctors rated their condition as satisfactory, but no more detailed information about the schoolchildren's well-being has been released. Rescuers reminded that gasoline is a flammable liquid whose vapors can ignite instantly: even a small amount of fuel coming into contact with fire can cause serious burns.
Similar cases in other regions
Gazeta.Ru also recalls two recent incidents involving children and fire. In the Moscow region, a child left unsupervised was playing with a lighter, the flames spread to a curtain, and he was taken to hospital. Earlier, a child in Anapa suffered a chemical burnafter tearing open a stress-relief toy. These cases, like the incident in Lysva, share a lack of supervision at the moment of injury — however, the sources do not draw direct conclusions about the causes.
