Restrictions at three airports

Rosaviatsia has temporarily restricted the arrival and departure of aircraft at the Moscow airports of Vnukovo, Domodedovo and Zhukovsky. The agency's press service explained in its Telegram channelthat the restrictions are necessary to ensure flight safety.

Report on the drones

Before the restrictions were introduced, Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin reported the neutralization of eight unmanned aerial vehicles on approach to the capital. According to him, emergency services specialists are working at the sites where the debris fell.

What this means for passengers

When restrictions are introduced, flights are often delayed or cancelled. Passengers are advised to check the reason for the delay and the estimated departure time at the check-in desk or at the airport information service. Depending on the length of the wait and the reason for the delay, the airline is obliged to provide passengers with refreshments and meals. More details on what to do when a flight is delayed and on alternatives to flying were covered by Gazeta.Ru in a separate article.

Context

This is not the first such case in recent days: earlier, according to the publication, Russians spent the night at the airportwaiting for a flight to Dubai. The published statements did not say how long the current restrictions would last or how many flights they would affect.
