Rain and hail in the UAE until Monday

Residents of the UAE can expect rain in several parts of the country until at least Monday, with temperatures possibly rising to 38°C. This was reported by The National, citing the National Center of Meteorology (NCM). This week, several areas have already seen heavy showers and hail; the maximum rainfall — 38 mm — was recorded in Masafi.

Where precipitation is expected

Heavy rain affected Sharjah, Fujairah, Ajman, Dubai and the Al Dhafra region, as well as the northern and eastern parts of the country. According to the NCM forecast, cloud cover will persist in the north — in Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain, Ajman and northern Sharjah — as well as in Fujairah and Dibba in the east; clouds may spread inland and bring further rain. Hail is possible in some eastern and northern areas.

Forecast for the coming days

On Friday, fair to partly cloudy conditions are expected, with a chance of convective clouds and rain in the east and north; humidity will rise in the west overnight and on Saturday morning, with possible haze, while some eastern and northern areas will turn cooler. On Saturday, conditions will remain the same, with light to moderate winds, occasionally strengthening and blowing up dust; gusts may reach 45 km/h. On Sunday, rain is possible in the east and north, and overnight and early Monday morning, fog or haze is likely along the coast and in internal areas. On Monday, convective clouds may bring new heavy showers to eastern areas, with fog again possible by Tuesday morning.

Temperatures and official advice

Temperatures will range from 33 to 37°C along the coast and islands, from 35 to 38°C in internal areas, and from 26 to 32°C in mountainous areas. Residents are urged to follow updates and official warnings, especially when travelling through areas with rain, blowing dust or reduced visibility.
