A secret ceremony in Voronezh
Voronezh hosted the funeral of rapper Misha Mavashi (real name Mikhail Nits), founder of the 'Northern Man' movement. Footage of the ceremony was published by the Telegram channel Baza, and is cited by Life.ru. The funeral was held under the strictest secrecy: strangers and photographers were not allowed near the grave, while around 200 people gathered near the cemetery.
Security measures and preparations
According to Baza, staff at Voronezh cemeteries, funeral services and gravediggers were warned in advance not to disclose the date and place of burial. Before the ceremony, the cemetery was inspected by cynologists with dogs, and armed security was on duty on the grounds. It is claimed that throughout the night before the burial, members of the 'Northern Man' movement kept watch at the grave in shifts, and the musician's body was taken from the morgue a day before the funeral.
Closed format and circumstances of death
Earlier, Life.ru reported that the farewell was decided to be held in a closed format due to fears of provocations: it was planned to invite no more than 50 people — relatives, close friends and associates of the artist. According to media reports, Mavashi's wife had received threats. The musician died on October 25 at the age of 41: according to Baza, he sustained a gunshot wound at his home and was hospitalized, but doctors could not save him. The Investigative Committee has launched an inquiry into the circumstances of the death. The official cause of death has not yet been established; the musician's representative denied the suicide version.
