Holiday parking rules on November 4
In Moscow, on November 4, National Unity Day, parking fees will be waived on all city streets. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced this on the Max messenger. Cars will be able to be parked for free even in the most expensive zones — in areas with rates of 380, 450 and 600 rubles per hour, as well as on streets with dynamic pricing, where the cost depends on how busy the spaces are.
The exception and the general calendar
The only exception is parking lots with barriers: they will continue to operate as usual, and you will have to pay the current rate for a car left there. Free parking on public holidays is provided by the city-approved calendar for 2026. According to the Moscow Department of Transport, in total, drivers will be given 71 days of free parking in 2026, and on 21 public holidays, restrictions in expensive tariff zones are lifted entirely. The fee waiver does not exempt drivers from traffic rules: cars may be left only in designated places.
Context of the November holidays
National Unity Day in 2026 falls on a Wednesday. With a standard five-day workweek, November 4 will be a day off, while November 5 and 6 will be working days; on the eve of the holiday, November 3, the working day is shortened by one hour. Life.ru previously reported this. For Muscovites, this means that free parking will fall on the only holiday day amid the working weekdays of that week.
