New episode — about drivers
The online energy magazine Energia+ and the Gigarama media lab continue releasing a video project about work in the oil industry. The heroes of the new episode are Gazprom Neft employees: an airfield fuel tanker driver at Pulkovo Airport in St. Petersburg, a bitumen tanker driver from Omsk, and a gasoline tanker driver from Moscow. As noted in the publication Life.ru, whether a plane takes off on time and whether materials for new roads arrive at the construction site depends on the skill of these people.
A profession shown through actions, not words
In the mini-film, the specialists are shown doing their real work: the authors deliberately reveal the profession not through words, but through what a person does with their hands, how they move, and what they focus on during a shift. According to the project participants, this kind of work requires specialized knowledge, discipline, and the ability to work with petroleum product quality assurance systems. The heroes state their motivations simply: the opportunity to be useful, varied work in a responsible field, and the chance to see the results of their labor.
The hero speaks and the project's plans
Gasoline tanker driver Alexey Yelistratov explained how his job differs from the usual perception of it: “People see gasoline tankers on the roads every day, but few know what lies behind the drivers’ work. We are responsible for delivering fuel to gas stations safely and on time. I hope the film will help people see this.” About his personal side, he said: “I love driving itself, and I love Moscow. And it also matters to me to know that I am delivering a quality product to people.”
What comes next
The project consists of seven videos about key industry specialists. The next episodes will appear gradually on the magazine’s website and will show one working day of lab technicians, electricians, gas station operators, and IT specialists. The authors emphasize that they chose professions that are widespread and typical for the industry — the ones that shape its real face today: the coverage is stated to span from field geology to digital technologies.
