Presentation in Doha

A presentation of the Center for Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan, established at the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, was held in Doha, the capital of Qatar. The event took place at the Diplomatic Institute of Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and was accompanied by an international scientific seminar, reports Zamon.uz. The stated goal was to broadly acquaint the public with the Center's mission, its scientific and educational potential, and its directions of international cooperation, as well as to showcase Uzbekistan's place in the history of world Islamic civilization.

Participants and presentations

The presentation was opened by Uzbekistan's Ambassador to Qatar Ashraf Khodjayev, Qatar's Minister of State and Chairman of the National Library Dr. Hamad bin Abdulaziz al-Kawari, and a representative of Qatar's Committee for the Alliance of Civilizations, Dr. Ahmad bin Hassan al-Hammadi. The Director of the Center, Firdavs Abdukhalikov, delivered a lecture on the mission, projects, and areas of cooperation, formulating four tasks with respect to heritage: to preserve, study, enrich, and pass it on to future generations.

Scientific seminar

The seminar brought together scholars from both countries. Center researcher Sheikh Abdulaziz Mansur spoke about the Uthmanic codex (Mushaf of Uthman); Dr. Ibrahim al-Ansari, Dean of the Faculty of Sharia at Qatar University, discussed the contribution of Mawarannahr scholars to Quranic and hadith sciences; and Dr. Muhammad al-Musleh addressed the significance of Imam Tirmidhi's work

Prospects for cooperation

Senior researcher at Hamad Bin Khalifa University Muhammad Modassir Ali noted that Qatar is ready to share its experience in teaching Arabic, digitizing manuscripts, and modern technologies, while Uzbekistan can develop cooperation thanks to its heritage. The exhibition featured the Center's publications, and the concluding session discussed prospects for partnership in the scientific, cultural, and educational spheres and the implementation of joint projects. No specific agreements or signed documents resulting from the event are mentioned in the publication.
