The key facts

  • ADM Jizzakh and South Korea's DK&G have concluded an agreement on industrial equipment for CKD production of hybrids and electric vehicles
  • Investment in the knock-down assembly workshop is up to $100 million; construction of the complex has already begun
  • Production of Changan models (primarily UNI-E), Chery, and Haval is planned on a single line, targeting the domestic market and export

Agreement with DK&G and a new complex in Jizzakh

ADM Jizzakh and the South Korean company DK&G have signed an agreement on industrial equipment for the production of hybrid and electric vehicles using CKD technology (complete knock-down assembly). The investment in the construction of the workshop will amount to up to $100 million, the press service of ADM Global group told the Gazeta newspaper; Spot.uz cites the same figure without the qualifier 'up to'. Construction of the new production complex on the territory of the automobile plant has already begun.

What will be produced and how

The new complex is expected to produce hybrid and electric vehicles of the Changan brands (primarily the UNI-E model), as well as Chery and Haval. The CKD production covers the full cycle — from body welding and painting to final assembly and quality control. Currently, Kia vehicles with internal combustion engines are produced using this technology at ADM Jizzakh, meaning the plant is transitioning from ICE vehicles to expanding into vehicles powered by new energy sources (NEV).

A single line for different brands

A distinctive feature of the complex is the ability to produce vehicles of different brands on a single production line. According to the company, this solution will be implemented through joint engineering work by specialists from ADM Jizzakh and DK&G; Spot.uz adds that the versatility of the conveyor should ensure production flexibility and simplify its reconfiguration. The output will be aimed both at the domestic market of Uzbekistan and at export.

Localization plans and the company's position

As part of developing the NEV direction, ADM Global plans to bring to the Uzbekistan market several models of hybrids and electric vehicles with a high degree of production localization. Specific models, launch timelines, and localization levels have not yet been disclosed. ADM Global CEO Daniyar Davletiyarov stated that the company's strategic task is not simply mastering new models, but building 'a modern industrial ecosystem that combines automotive manufacturing, component production, the development of its own engineering competencies, and the introduction of advanced technologies'.

Context

ADM Global (Roodell LLC) was founded in 2014 and is engaged in the distribution, local production, sale, and servicing of passenger and commercial vehicles. The company cooperates with the brands Kia, Chery, Haval, Tank, Changan, and Hyundai Truck & Bus, and has more than 115 dealer centers across Uzbekistan. Separately, Spot.uz mentions that earlier it was proposed to establish production of MAZ trucks at the Krantas plant in Nurafshan — this is a different project, unrelated to the agreement between ADM Jizzakh and DK&G.
