Visa-free regime and length of stay

Citizens of Uzbekistan may enter Georgia without a visa and stay in the country for one full year. This possibility is provided by Government Resolution of Georgia No. 255 of June 5, 2015, which included Uzbekistan in the list of countries whose citizens are allowed visa-free entry. This is reported by Kun.uz.

What documents are needed for entry

To enter Georgia, a citizen of Uzbekistan needs a valid international passport. If the purpose of the trip is tourism, medical insurance is additionally required. At the border, border services may also ask to confirm the purpose of the trip, place of residence and availability of funds. Such confirmations include, for example, a hotel booking, a housing rental agreement or the address of the host person, an invitation, a bank account statement or other documents showing funds for the trip, as well as a return ticket or a ticket to a third country, if it has already been purchased and is part of the itinerary. These documents are not required from every traveler; however, as the outlet notes, the absence of the necessary confirmations may become grounds for denial of entry. Additional information about documents can be obtained on the official visa portal of Georgia.

Medical insurance from 2026

From January 1, 2026, foreign tourists entering Georgia must have medical insurance with coverage of at least 30,000 lari. This new requirement applies to those arriving for tourism purposes, including citizens of Uzbekistan, who previously could enter the country with only an international passport.
