The key facts

  • With an income of up to 80,000 rubles per month, the state doubles contributions, but no more than 36,000 rubles per year
  • To get the maximum, it is enough to contribute 3,000 rubles monthly; additionally, a 13% tax deduction is possible
  • With incomes above 80,000 and above 150,000 rubles, the co-financing ratio drops to 1:2 and 1:4

Conditions for maximum co-financing

A participant in the long-term savings program (LSP) with an average monthly income of up to 80,000 rubles can receive from the state as much as they contribute themselves, but no more than 36,000 rubles per year. To get maximum support, it is enough to set aside 3,000 rubles monthly. This was told to the publication by Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation Igor Balynin.

Calculation example

According to Balynin, a citizen earning 70,000 rubles a month who contributes 3,000 rubles monthly will deposit 36,000 rubles over a year, and the state will add the same amount the following year. In addition, if they are entitled to a tax deduction and have paid enough personal income tax, they can get back 4,680 rubles — 13% of their own contributions; this money is returned separately from the state co-financing.

For higher incomes

For people with incomes above 80,000 and up to 150,000 rubles, the state adds one ruble for every two contributed, and above 150,000 — one ruble for every four. To receive the maximum 36,000 rubles, one would need to contribute 72,000 or 144,000 rubles per year, respectively. Balynin emphasized that participation in the program is voluntary: pensioners and those who are only a few years away from retirement can also join.

Time restrictions

The LSP involves long-term placement of money: as a general rule, payouts are available to women from age 55, men from age 60, or after 15 years of the contract's validity. Funds can be withdrawn early without losing the provided benefits only in special life circumstances, including expensive medical treatment and the loss of a breadwinner. Earlier, according to the same publication, it became knownwho invests in the LSP most often.
