Kane's record-breaking season honoured with the Gerd Müller Trophy
Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane received the Gerd Müller Trophy, awarded to the season's top goalscorer — he was presented with the award at the Ballon d'Or ceremony in London, reports Life.ru.
73 goals — a historic high for the award
In the 2025/26 season, the Englishman scored 73 goals in 65 matches for club and country: 61 for Bayern and 12 for the England national team, for whom he made 14 appearances. Broken down by competition, it looks like this: 36 goals in 31 Bundesliga matches, 14 in the Champions League, 10 in the German Cup and one in the German Super Cup. As the outlet notes, this tally became a record in the entire history of the award — for comparison, in 2024 Kane shared the trophy with Kylian Mbappé when both finished the season with 52 goals.
A second trophy and a treble-winning season
This is Kane's second Gerd Müller Trophy. Previous winners of the award include Robert Lewandowski, Erling Haaland and Viktor Gyökeres. Over the same season, Kane also won the Golden Shoe — the award for the top scorer among Europe's domestic leagues — and, together with Bayern, won the Bundesliga and the German Cup.
Yamal becomes the first three-time winner of the Kopa Trophy
At the same ceremony, 19-year-old Barcelona forward Lamine Yamal received for the third year in a row the Kopa Trophy as the world's best young footballer — he won it in 2024 and 2025 and became the first three-time winner in the award's history. In this year's vote he beat nine contenders, including his Barcelona teammate Pau Cubarsí and Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Warren Zaïre-Emery.
