Announcement and sales timeline

Apple has unveiled a new 14-inch MacBook Pro built on the M6 chip, Kun.uz reports. Pre-orders for the device open on October 28, and it will go on sale on November 6. The laptop is offered in silver and black, with prices starting at $1,999.

M6 chip performance

According to the company, the M6's specs differ noticeably from the previous generation: the 12-core GPU is up to 30% faster, while two 16-core Neural Engine units, which handle artificial intelligence tasks, deliver up to a 1.9x performance boost compared with the M5. This allows users to complete 3D modeling, gaming, and photo editing tasks faster, as well as process queries to large language models (LLMs) directly on the laptop itself. Apple emphasizes that for those upgrading from 2020 M1-based models, the gains will be especially noticeable: graphics are up to 11 times faster and AI up to 13 times faster.

Battery life and equipment

The new MacBook Pro promises record battery life for Mac computers — up to 24 hours without recharging; the battery can be charged to 50% in half an hour. The laptop supports Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6, and is equipped with a 12-megapixel camera and three Thunderbolt 4 ports. The base configuration comes with 16 GB of RAM, expandable to 32 GB.
