Context of other fires

On the evening of October 25, according to the same publication, the Theater in the Southwest caught fire in Moscow: the blaze started in a utility room. The theater is located on the ground floor of a residential building on Vernadsky Prospekt, and thick black smoke was billowing from the building; the fire was assigned an elevated complexity rank. The flames did not affect the residential building. There were also reports of a fire in a building where Nikita Mikhalkov and his father had lived.

Why this matters

A fire covering 800 square meters with spread to the roof affects all residents of the building: 30 people have already been evacuated, and the temporary accommodation centers at the MFC office and the sports school indicate that some residents cannot return to their homes. In practical terms, this concerns organizing housing for the evacuees and assessing the condition of the roof and apartments after firefighting. The cited publications do not yet disclose information about casualties or the cause of the fire.
