Context of the tournament and the admission of Russians
The World Artistic Gymnastics Championships are being held in Rotterdam from October 17 to 25; the first Olympic quotas are being contested at the tournament. According to the publication, on November 28, 2025, the congress of the European Gymnastics union admitted Russian gymnasts to European competitions and qualification for the 2028 Olympic Games in a neutral status. Delegates from 48 of 50 countries took part in the vote, with 27 states voting in favor of the admission. The decision covers artistic and rhythmic gymnastics, trampoline, acrobatic gymnastics, and aerobic gymnastics.
Russian medals at the tournament
Earlier at this championship, gymnast Lyudmila Roshchina won silver in the individual all-around. Thus, the team already has two medals from the tournament — one each for a man and a woman, which gives grounds to speak of a successful performance after admission to international starts, although the full picture will become clear after all program events are completed.
