The government simplified pension procedures
On October 19, the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan approved measures for transitioning to a compact system of operation of the Pension Fund and introduced amendments to the regulation on the procedure for assigning and paying pensions, approved in October 2022. The changes are aimed at strengthening social protection of citizens and creating additional conveniences, Spot reports.
Counting the work record for 2005–2016 without an archival certificate
For citizens who worked in 2005–2016 at any organization and have corresponding entries in their work record book, this period is included in the work record if the employer paid mandatory contributions to the accumulative pension account at least once per calendar year. Submission of an archival certificate is not required in this case.
Care for a child with a disability
Time spent caring for a child with a disability under the age of 18 will be counted toward the work record on the basis of an electronic medical opinion. Citizens will not be required to provide additional documents confirming the care.
Proactive assignment of supplements and payments
If a citizen is entitled to supplements to their pension, the maximum amount will now be assigned proactively — without an application from the recipient. The proactive procedure is also being introduced for: extending pension payments upon reassignment or extension of the disability group; recalculation of the pension upon assignment of disability group I; payment of survivor's pension when the number of family members changes; assignment and payment of the supplement upon reaching the age of 100; payment of the pension when replacing an ID card (due to expiration or early).
Simplification when changing place of residence
Pensioners now have a simplified procedure for submitting applications to transfer pension payments when changing their place of residence: they can apply at any public service center or through the Unified Portal of Interactive Public Services my.gov.uz.
